The 2016-17 Żurrieq FC season is the 67th season in the football clubs’ history. Żurrieq also participate in this season’s edition of the domestic cup, the Maltese FA Trophy. The season covers a period from 25 July to 30 June 2017.

Review

Dino Bonnici remains the clubs president with Julian Galea (also Team Manager) and Shaun Camilleri as vice-presidents. Rita Grima took over Roderick Zammit’s role as General Secretary. Victor Galea remained as the treasure with Karl Sacco as a committee member.

In addition, Żurrieq hired coaches Brain Vella as their first team coach and Noel Spearing as their assistant coach for this season. The Club Doctor remained Dr. Raymond Sacco and the Physiotherapist also remained Chris Fenech.


Players Transfers

Żurrieq signed 10 new players for this season which are; Radnor Farrugia, Ryan Farrugia, Gianpiero Nicosia, Luca Borg, Luca Nagiah, Alan Abdilla, Nathaniel Bouvet, Bjorn Chetcuti, Brendan Scerri, Jean Claude Faenza and Luke Caruana.

As well, Żurrieq kept the services of these upcoming players from last season campaign; David Bugeja, Dylan Darmanin, Alexander Barbara, Charlo Mamo, Nicholas Abdilla, Jürgen Buhagiar, Luke Bugeja, Carmelo Caruana and Ryan Bonnici.

The foreign player of the squad for this season is Marko Dimitrijevic who also served the club in the previous season.
